The prominent Spanish RFME EnduroGP World Championship team heads to round one in Portugal on April 4-6 with a new coach in the hugely experienced Jaume Betriu.

After his recent appointment as head coach, it hasn’t taken Jaume Betriu to announce the names of the riders who will form the RFME team in the 2025 EnduroGP World Championship this season.

A four-rider lineup for the national team will see young riders represent Spain in the main categories of the top international competition in different categories: Yago Domínguez (Alfer 125) and Liam Sanjuan (GASGAS 125) in Youth; Albert Fontova (GASGAS 350 EXC-F) in Junior; and María San Miguel (GASGAS 300) in the Women’s World Championship.

Jaume Betriu, 11-time Spanish Enduro Champion, one-time National Cross-Country Champion, two-time World Championship runner-up in the E3 category, and best rookie at the 2020 Dakar, takes over as team coach with a focus on the team’s development, continuity, and development.

“The main goal is to be able to work as a team during training prior to competitions and to introduce riders who are achieving good results to continue strengthening the entire base,” says Betriu. “It’s a long road, but also a great opportunity that the federation is offering to young players, and we must take advantage of all available resources.”

The team has already begun training. The three male riders participated in this first stage: Domínguez, Sanjuan, and Fontova. María San Miguel is expected to join the team for the next training camp, along with several young riders who are standing out at the national level and who could be included in future squads.

The three male riders from the national team will compete in all seven rounds of the 2025 EnduroGP World Championship, which begins on April 4 in Portugal. Meanwhile, María San Miguel, the sole female representative, will compete in all four qualifying events of the Women's World Championship.
