Spanish Enduro: Title 16 for Josep Garcia video highlights

Video highlights and results from the final round of the 2024 Spanish Enduro Championship held in Cordoba, where Josep Garcia claimed both the Scratch and E1 national titles to top a perfect season.

Cordoba Spanish final round in a nutshell:

As with the fourth round, the final of the 2024 Spanish Enduro Championship was shortened to a single day, with the Super Test taking place on Saturday afternoon and the enduro on Sunday. However, unlike two weeks ago, the terrain and specials in Córdoba were highly praised by both riders and spectators. The organisers focused on creating a spectacular enduro, aiming to make it part of the world championship in a few years.
This event also marked the retirement of brothers Cristóbal and Víctor Guerrero after a lifetime dedicated to enduro. During the Super Test, a commemorative plaque was presented to Cristóbal, who also finished third behind Josep García and Marc Sans.
With double points on offer in the final round, competitors needed to avoid any mistakes. Josep García delivered his trademark determination, sealing a perfect season and claiming his 16th national title, his sixth double to date.
Josep García: “The dream will be to do it all over again, as this season has already been a dream. It will be very difficult, but clearly, I am in a good place physically, I feel great with the bike and the team, so I think it’s possible to replicate this year’s achievements. But for now, I’m super happy. Now it’s time to enjoy all of this because after the World Championship, the Six Days, and then the Spanish Nationals, this winter will be quite a break, as we finished so late. There’s still the Enduroc, which is my home race, but nothing else.
“This last race of the year here in Córdoba was a beautiful one, with very fun but demanding specials, both the going and the specials themselves. To give 100%, you had to push to the limit, and I really enjoyed it. I’m happy to win both the Enduro and Scratch titles, which are always important, and to add another Scratch and class title to the Spanish Championship, which means a lot.”
Antoine Magain once again finished second and, despite being slightly dissatisfied with his riding, managed to lead E3 and secure Sherco’s only Senior title this season.
Antoine Magain: “They truly gave us a beautiful enduro. It was fantastic to finish such a great race. Results-wise, it was a great day for me with really good times. I struggled a bit during the first lap due to a small issue. After that, the rest of the day went very well with good times and an exciting battle with Betriu. I finished second behind Josep in Scratch and first in E3, which also reflects my championship standings. Overall, it has been a good season for me in the Spanish Championship.”
Continuing his progress back on the "big mama" 500 4T, Jaume Betriu returned to the Scratch podium with a third-place finish, pulling 50 seconds ahead of fourth-placed Sergio Navarro, who secured the E2 title.
Sergio Navarro: “I’m very happy to have won the Enduro 2 title. Today, I was a bit nervous. That’s why I wasn’t as smooth, nor did I want to take too many risks, as third place was enough due to the double points. I kept a good pace and didn’t crash. This year, I’ve won the Cross-Country National, Enduro 2, and the Andalusian Championship.”
Another standout was Mireia Badia, who closed out her golden season with today’s victory in the final, claiming her ninth National title in addition to the Women’s World Enduro Championship she won in France two months ago.
Mireia Badia: “A perfect year, yes, yes. The race today was a long day, but the weekend went really well. Today the terrain was in perfect condition. I think we all enjoyed these specials and the rally, and I finished the season with very good feelings in the time sections and with the bike. I’m very happy, especially with another title, my ninth, and my third with Rieju.”
Despite battling intestinal issues all week and being physically compromised during the race, Juan Pablo Clericus capitalized on a mistake by Pellicer to take the Junior Open title.
Yago Domínguez clinched the Junior 125cc 2T victory ahead of Liam San Juan and Nil Rojas, securing his second national title.
