2024 Xross Hard Enduro results: Old but Gold Jarvis wins day 2 in Serbia

Making amends for a bent sprocket on day one which cost him approaching one hour of lost time, Graham Jarvis turned on the old style today in Serbia. Not content with claiming the over-40s class results (we’re joking!), Graham played with the race lead all day before finally crossing the line 20 seconds ahead on corrected time.
Just as on day one, the pace at the front was relentless in tough riding and high temperatures as riders completed a largely dry and dusty 100km route, west of the paddocks and almost five hours in total for the leaders.
It was billed as the hardest day of the rally and so it proved with some tough sections before the service but one seemingly endless valley section which they went up and down many times, in the heat it was hard....although Graham still had enough in the tank for a wheelie at the finish.

Relentless was again the word for Wade Young who clocked in first across the final check point to finish second on the day to Jarvis. The Leader Tread GASGAS rider finished three and a half minutes ahead of nearest rival Teo Kabakchiev to extend his lead to over nine minutes with one day remaining.
Sherco’s main man in Serbia Kabakchiev is looking equally solid for another second place finish as he overtook Michael Walkner, fourth today, in the classification.
Young South African James Moore once again proved his pedigree by completing the top five, claiming some much more experienced riders scalps including Mario Roman who does not look himself this week so far and is in danger of not making the podium in a race where he needs to capitalise.
Notable riders retiring today included Sonny Goggia, Burts Crayston and Alfredo Gomez who were forced to drop out the race (reasons not known at time of writing…).
