2025 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Results: EnduroGP boys run riot, Garcia fastest on Prologue Day 1

2025 Erzbergrodeo Iron Road Prologue day one results sees Josep Garcia fastest from Andrea Verona as EnduroGP boys run riot ahead of the 2025 Dakar winner and Daniel Sanders in third.

2025 Erzbergrodeo Iron Road Prologue day 1 in a nutshell:

With rain slow to clear off, the race organisers delayed the Iron Road Prologue day one start time by one hour this morning. It was just enough to see the clouds begin to lift and reveal a course a little softer in places but no less rough as the 1000+ riders one-by-one ruin the track.
We say it every year but the early riders on track have it much easier (flatter and smoother) than everyone else on the course which snakes its way up the mountain for 10-plus minutes.
Already by the time the top 70 to 100 riders were running through, terrible braking bumps and larger rocks chucked into the track were a nightmare and caused a couple of heavy crashes – heal fast all who hit the deck.
The battle to be fastest overall was one we’re used to seeing in the EnduroGP World Championship as top dogs Josep Garcia and Andrea Verona were having their own battle for bragging rights.
Both were on 450s by the way, Josep opting for a bigger (faster) bike here than his usual 250 EXC-F and the net results was the Spaniard had the upper edge by seven seconds from the Italian.
Also on a KTM 450 EXC-F instead of his usual machine, Daniel Sanders was equally spectacular to watch on the Iron Road course. On his first visit to Erzberg Chucky showed he’s lost none of his enduro skills with third and 20s off Garcia’s pace.
Best of the rest riders who are not just here to grab the headlines, Dominik Olszowy came home in fourth place on the Rieju fuel injected two-stroke. Unless a miracle happens and someone goes quicker tomorrow, the Rieju Factory rider will head to the start line in the bottom of the quarry on Sunday first of all.
Behind him came the guys we expect to see challenging for the main event win starting with Billy Bolt in P5 one second faster than Jonny Walker on the Triumph 250 – these two looked the shiniest in new riding kit if that’s any consolation to them?!
Will Riordan was both the fastest Sherco rider, ahead of Teo Kabakchiev and Mario Roman (16th and 17th respectively), and fastest of the US Hard Enduro elite who are here this weekend.
The Aussie was just under two seconds faster than reigning Erzberg and Hard Enduro World Champion, Manuel Lettenbichler, and well ahead of Trystan Hart in 25th, Ryder LeBlond 37th and Cody Webb down in a lowly 71st.
A reminder that qualifying for the front row of 50 is all important at Erzberg and P10 for Letti, for example, is more than enough. Being inside the top 10 or so gives chance to pick the best start place avoiding any deep puddles in the bottom of the quarry but is not essential. Being in the top 50 is way more important.
Factor in also the number of riders who will not race the main Hare Scramble and that means Graham Jarvis, 58th after today, will just miss out on the front row on Sunday.
That also means Cody Webb is going to be on row two and though they will have a harder time and will start several minutes behind row one, Cody needs look no further than Jarvis for evidence that podiums are possible from row two.
Shoutout to Toby Martyn but in particular Camilo Herrera who, having started in 439th and 615th place respectively (riders go in number order and if you are not seeded you start in this low position on a very beaten track), still pulled inside the top 50 for Toby and Chilean Camilo in a pretty amazing 12th.
