Alex Snow claims 2022 British Enduro Championship

“Retired” Alex Snow has clinched the 2022 ACU British Enduro Championship at final rounds in Catterick, North Yorkshire after a season-long battle with Dan Mundell – Danny McCanney takes the scratch result over two days racing.

After officially retiring from racing at the end of 2021, Alex Snow says a “racing for fun” attitude has helped him take the ’22 BEC crown. Now running the GASGAS UK off road training school, Snow has mixed the hard work of running his own business with the UK series this year and has beaten off some hefty names from world enduro to take his second BEC crown.

Dan Mundell was on that list of challengers after a stellar ’22 season which saw him closest challenger to Snow and also sees the Beta UK rider fighting for the European Enduro Championship.

At this final weekend of the BEC season, former champion Danny McCanney also turned up the wick taking the overall win across two days of enduro on the open moorland in the north of England.

ISDE World Trophy winner Jed Etchells claimed a 2-2 scorecard across both days with title challenger Mundell not quite having enough for the EnduroGP boys and taking third scratch on both days.

Mundell’s 3-3 scorecard and 5-4 for Snow was enough to seal the overall British title for Snowy at the final round laid on by Wayne Braybrooke and his RAW Enduro team at the Catterick British Army barracks venue.

The weekend saw the Fast Eddy Racing team introduce a new rider, Jack Edmondson who returned to racing after injury to take 4-5 scorecard. His brother Harry meanwhile claimed the 2022 125 two-stroke British Championship with two P7 scratch results this weekend.
