AUNER HardEnduroSeries Germany: Triumph for Milan Schmuser at Isegrim Enduro

Milan Schmuser takes victory German Hard Enduro Series round five, the Isegrim Enduro in Saxony with a clean sweep of prologue and race wins.

An intense and eventful day of racing is behind the riders and fans in Schwepnitz for round five of the 2025 AUNER HardEnduroSeries Germany. The traditional Isegrim Enduro moved to mid-September this year – a change of date that brought a strong field of riders and a large crowd.

The host club, Quadpoint Schwepnitz, also reworked the track to be more technically demanding and improve the flow.

ACE Bikes Prolog Award

Right from the start, the ACE Bikes Prolog Award proved a real nail-biter on the more flowing course, which tightened the gaps and shuffled the results more than usual.

Henry Strauss opened the Prolog and was initially fastest, but a mistake just before the finish cost him around three seconds meaning the series’ leading prologue specialist had to settle for third place.

Leon Hentschel took advantage of the opportunity, slotting into second place with a strong run and victory went to Milan Schmüser, who also moved into the lead of the overall ACE Bikes Prolog Award standings.

Record crowd for group races

The “Altes Tanklager” motorsport facility was full with a record crowd as group racing got underway.

In the first group race, Milan Schmüser and Henry Strauss delivered a top-class duel. The lead changed hands several times, but Strauss ultimately edged out Schmüser to take the win. The second group race, meanwhile, was dominated by Leon Hentschel, who pulled away and took a comfortable victory.

But the races also had their share of drama: Lukas Jung, running inside the top three, was forced to retire early with a technical problem. Meanwhile, several early class results were decided. In the Women’s class, Julia Bittner confirmed her strong form and prevailed against her long-time Czech rival Karolina Vrchotová. Both now head to the next season highlight in Meltewitz tied on points.

The E-Bike category produced a familiar winner: Eric Seifert came out on top ahead of Wanja Morlinghaus and Felix Bräuer. The youngsters in the Luminus HESG Kids 85ccm again put on a great show, with Loris Solbrig once more taking victory ahead of Eric Keller.

Final with a Historic Winner

The big finale saw Strauss in the lead, closely followed by Schmüser and Hentschel. But in the stony uphill section, the order changed: Schmüser found the better line and took the lead – a key moment reminiscent of last year, when Charlie Frost had made his decisive move at the very same spot.

Strauss, however, wasn’t about to give up and wanted the unique hand-carved wolf trophy but mistakes crept in, allowing Hentschel to move into second place with two laps to go. Strauss closed the gap to within a second but ultimately had to settle for third at the finish.

Meanwhile Milan celebrated his first victory in Schwepnitz and joined Kevin Gallas and Leon Hentschel as the third rider to etch his name onto the winners’ list in eastern Saxony.

Drama across the classes

The finale also brought drama in the other categories. In the Amateur class, Sören Emich’s race ended in the very first lap when he destroyed his rear sprocket on the steep climb. The beneficiary was Josef Woitella, who clinched his maiden victory. Pascal Kaupa finished second and simultaneously moved into the championship lead.

In the Senior class, Kai Uebe sealed the deal with another victory, securing the title early. Things remain tight among the Juniors: while Matthis Millich won again, the battle for second is wide open. This time it was Simon Müller who took second place, celebrating his first-ever HESG podium. Third went to Jan Valvoda, who returned from injury, while Emil Kessler – a Talentpool rider – placed fourth, solidifying his hold on second place in the standings.

The day was rounded off by the Luminus Energie HESG Kids categories, where Melvin Gohlke (50ccm) and Jordan Wittenberg (65ccm) both claimed victory.
