Bimota announce dedicated off-road dealer network for incoming BX450 Enduro

Bimota have expanded their UK presence with the appointment of four dedicated off-road dealers to support the arrival of the new BX450 Enduro.

The Italian marque, now fully owned by Kawasaki, pulled the covers off the BX450 in March, marking a sidestep from the firm’s usual boutique road-based offerings.

The firm’s inaugural dual sport, priced at £10,588, is expected to reach UK showrooms this month, and prospective customers will be able to get their hands on one across three English venues and one Welsh site.

Those are Southcoast Powersports in Salisbury, Marsh Powersports in Merthyr Tydfil, Corby Kawasaki in Corby, and Craig's Motorcycles in Dewsbury. All four dealerships are expected to receive stock of the new BX450 shortly.

The move builds on Bimota's existing UK road-bike dealer network, which was established last year and includes outlets such as Chris Walker Motorcycles in Grantham.

Confirming the expansion, Kawasaki UK Business Operations Manager Dean Clewley said: "We're really pleased to confirm the first four off-road dealers for Bimota, strengthening the road-based network we already have in place.

"We have had a lot of interest in the high-spec Bimota BX450 since its launch, and with the bike due to arrive in June, riders wanting to take on enduro competition can now speak to their nearest dealer to find out more."

Based heavily on Kawasaki's proven KX450X platform, the BX differs only very slightly from the long-established Kwak.

Unlike their usual trick chassis-building antics, Bimota have left the BX alone for the most part and underneath, it’s almost entirely Japanese.

The biggest change comes from the Athena GET ECU, which adds Bimota-specific fuel/air mapping with two preset modes to toggle between. There’s also 10 levels of traction control and launch control operable via a handlebar switch.

A titanium Akrapovič exhaust and large 10.7-litre fuel tank round out the differences – the latter offering 4.5 litres more fuel-stowing capacity than the standard KX.
