British Enduro Championship: Antoine Magain the class act at Catterick

Sherco Racing’s Antone Magain takes double day victory at rounds five and six of the 2025 ACU Dirt Store British Enduro Championship at Catterick – Triumph Racing duo Mikael Persson and Jamie McCanney complete the podium.

A hot and dry British Army training ground at Catterick proved the setting for rounds five and six of the 2025 British Enduro Championship. The BEC season has been dominated by the new Triumph Racing Enduro Team and Mikael Persson so far but this weekend saw another international rider and team with Sherco Racing’s Antoine Magain making the trip across the English Channel to compete and gain valuable practice on UK soil ahead of the EnduroGP in two weeks.  

And it was the Belgian on the French machine who took the double victory with a winning margin of just under half a minute across the nine tests on day one and eight on day two. It was an impressive display as the top boys brought world class speed to the UK domestic series and showed their class.

Chasing his EnduroGP rival all the way, Miki Persson took tests wins along the way and was fastest out the blocks one day two but in the end the Triumph 250 was outgunned by the Sherco 300.

Jamie McCanney backed up his teammate on the podium with third on both days with a locked-in top five across both days of PAR Homes GASGAS rider Jack Edmondson fourth and Triple D Motorsport KTM’s Dan Mundell in fifth.

Women’s Elite riders from the EnduroGP circus were also racing at Catterick with Rosie Rowett taking the round five win and Nieve Holmes the round six win. Emily Hall rounded the podium on day one while Elizabeth Tett stepped up on day two behind Holmes with Hall again third (Rowett did not start day two). 

Class acts

Among the classes Jack Keenan came out on top of the competitive Expert class, ahead of Fraser Lampkin and Kris Price. Other winners included Charlie Chater in U23, Brad King in Expert Vets, Connor Watson in Clubman and Tom Jones in the Youths.
