Closer look: OXA Factory header pipe and silencer/muffler – two-stroke specialists for enduro

Improved power and performance, quality and care for detail, a focus on two-strokes…those are the kinds of words we like to hear about new products for our bikes – Enduro21 takes a closer look at OXA Factory off-road exhausts systems.

Based in the small town of Crespia, in the top right corner of Spain, OXA are a growing presence in the world of enduro. Notable for appearing on an increasing number of world championship race bikes, you may have spotted them on Wade Young and Graham Jarvis in the Hard Enduro World Championship, and the Rieju factory team machines in both EnduroGP and the HEWC series.

OXA Factory products centre around exhausts header pipes and mufflers or silencers but also extends to a small range of ancillaries including exhaust mount brackets and so on.

Their stated aim is to improve power and performance of off-road motorcycles, especially for two-strokes. OXA also boast their quality, care for detail and finish of its products, “to ensure that they are visually attractive and meet the expectations of its most demanding customers.” Amen to all that.

The OXA fitment range stretches across enduro with that focus on 250 and 300 two-stroke models from KTM/Husqvarna/GASGAS, Sherco, Beta, Yamaha, Honda, Fantic and also local compatriots Rieju where you will find them as standard equipment on some models.

The images shown are of a Factory Raw header pipe and muffler fitted to the Enduro21 test mule Yamaha YZ250 and the silencer is the “gold edition” for hard enduro. We have this one on test so stay tuned for more info including back-to-back comparison with the stock Yamaha equipment to show how it works in enduro conditions.

This is the OXA Gold Edition muffler alongside the standard Yamaha YZ one.

The muffler range is three models including the KR1 edition, shorter for maximum power, the Black Edition and the Gold Edition which improves torque and power and is generally more suited to extreme enduro (as used by Young and Jarvis).

The stainless steel header pipes have different options too but all claim power increases for a more efficient and “easier to ride” power delivery. Ours on the YZ250 is the Factory pipe and it has a clear coating, not just bare metal. Looks good, huh?

The header pipes are also designed to improve ground clearance especially on some of the Austrian bikes which have issues with their girth.

As mentioned, Enduro21 has this set-up on test on our project YZ. Fitting was like-for-like with no issues and we used existing brackets, bolts, and springs but used the OXA rubber seal between the header adn silencer. 

Cost: Just under 250€ for the header and 200€ for the Gold Edition silencer shown. Price not known in GBP or USD.
