Dead ‘Ard Cousin Xtreme – Jack Spencer conquers “the Tough One’s Cuz”

WOR Enduro Sport dished up another dose of extreme enduro at the iconic Nantmawr Quarry – home to the legendary Tough One for so many years – where Beta UK supported Jack Spencer claimed the win.

A fresh look to the tried and tested format of extreme enduros in the Nantmawr quarry on the English Welsh border delivered the “Dead ‘Ard Cousin Xtreme” last weekend, a typically tough (tougher than the Tough One’s Little Brother) but not so hard as to put people off and one which tested fitness first and foremost across the classes.

“The rider feedback was brilliant with even DNF riders saying how rideable, doable but still (as ever in this quarry) asking of fitness”, says race director Steve Ireland.

Nantmawr’s unforgiving rocky terrain, including the rock garden right on the edge of the paddock (shown in the images) were a tough call for riders and bikes across the two hours plus one lap race.

Topping the time sheets after a near race-long battle was Jack Spencer finishing just under a minute ahead of Burts Crayston. These were the only two riders to complete 12 laps of the course.

Gary McCoy defied age by winning the Vets A Experts (over 35) at the age of 57...on a 250 four-stroke.

Winners in other classes include: Novice was Harrison Davies, Clubman Mason Pritchard, Vets B Conal McDough, Sportsman class went to Josh Butcher, Over 50 belonged to Damien White, Super Vet (over 57) to Phil Borely and a stand out ride in Adult Youth was Harry Best.
