First look: AXP Racing Xtrem skid plate for the Stark Varg

Three-piece, “Xtrem” skid plate from AXP Racing answers Stark Varg owners’ call for hard enduro protection parts.

With the Stark Varg enduro model on the horizon, and with an increasing number of existing owners already crying out for some real enduro protection for their bikes, AXP Racing have answered the call.

The new Xtrem skid plate from the French manufacturer weighs in at 1.6kg and is made from 8mm thick, high density polyethylene plastic.

The skid plate will shortly (later in November 2024) be available on its own or as a package, in three-parts along with a linkage guard plus side case guard.

The plate is designed to protect the battery unit on the Varg yet maintain airflow through to ventilation holes, plus it has additional “wings” to protect the footrests and footrest hangers.

As with all AXP Xtrem skid plates, the HDPE plastic material is light but also is designed to not generate vibration or deform under impacts and allows the bike to slide easily over obstacles with less friction.
