First look: Renthal Lock-On Grips for Off-Road

They’ve been a long time coming but the Renthal Lock-On Grips for off-road motorcycles are finally here.

Renthal should need no introduction for their various hard parts on our bikes. Handlebars, grips, chain wheels and more, their products are all synonymous with quality and practical application in enduro, motocross, rally and across the wider spectrum of two-wheeled sports.

The new lock-on grips, which have been in development for three or four years to the best of our knowledge, arrive manufacturered and designed to the same high standards as all Renthal products with a few key features which make them stand out.

Twin bolt clamp design

Renthal’s innovative, patent-pending twin split collar clamp design means easy installation without sanding on knurled and non-knurled bars. The clamps are CNC machined 6082 T6 aluminium with two allen key-type bolts.

The lock-on grips are available in Renthal’s most popular patterns and designs including soft, medium and aramid compounds with half-waffle and full-diamond variants.

Tuff-End Tech end caps with Renthal ‘R’ logos have been borrowed from the Comfort Grip which they say makes them look better and more crash resistant.

The grips have various cams included in each pack, which makes them suitable for a wide range of Japanese and European machines.

Renthal also say the grips can be fitted to any aftermarket handlebar without modification, a feature not true with all aftermarket grips.

Renthal’s Simple Cam Alignment (SCA) feature makes it easier to fit the cam to the throttle tube correctly on initial installation.
