Historic off-road brand OSSA is back in 2025…with an electric enduro bike?

The legendary brand OSSA has confirmed its return in 2025 with a new range of motorcycles, developed in conjunction with BTWICE Engineering, with a surprising announcement and mysterious image with three motorcycle silhouettes - enduro, scooter and street bikes.

OSSA’s announcement has sparked excitement thanks to that promotional image with an enduro bike at the front, which is obviously what caught our eye. 
The news comes as the Spanish brand is set for a return to manufacturing in collaboration with BTWICE Engineering, a leading innovation and sustainability company based in Begur (Girona).
The possibility that these models will be electric adds a touch of mystery to the rebirth of one of the most iconic brands in Spanish motorcycling.

“OSSA has always represented innovation and excellence in motorcycling,” says Alexandre Laplaza, co-owner of the brand. “With BTWICE as our ally, we are ready to redefine the future of the brand, offering motorcycles that respect our heritage and respond to current consumer demands.” Although not yet officially confirmed, the collaboration with BTWICE suggests that the new OSSAs could have an electric focus, adapting to the growing demand.

From an iconic appearance in the film “Watch out, we’re mad” by Bud Spencer and Terence Hill to the legendary Mick Andrews Replica trials bikes or the E73 that Ton Marsinyach took to glory in off-road, OSSA has a place in off-road history.
OSSA models, founded in 1948 by Manuel Giró, lived their golden age in the 60s and 70s, especially after the arrival of his son Eduard in 1964. Their commitment to competition allowed them to improve their motorcycles and open markets such as the United States, where their popular Enduro bikes were known as Pioneer (does this name sound familiar?). 
However, after ceasing production in 1984 and a brief comeback attempt in 2009, the legendary OSSA four-leaf clover seemed to wither away… until now.

PS: It seems that the famous OSSA logo is not inspired by a clover, but rather by the 'Maltese cross' system, a film-advance mechanism used in cinema projectors, where Orfeo Sincronic S.A (OSSA) stood out before becoming a legend of motorcycling. However, history has always wanted to remember the brand as a clover, the four-leaf clover associated with good luck ;)
