ISDE 2025: Spain Reveals Line-up – Josep Garcia Leads the Trophy Teams

The Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation (RFME) has announced the Senior and Junior World Trophy teams that will represent Spain at the 2025 International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE), taking place from 24 to 29 August in Bergamo, Italy.

In a historic 99th edition of the ISDE, Josep García will again lead Spain’s World Trophy squad with a dual aim: to help secure the coveted team title and to chase a fifth consecutive individual scratch victory.

Bergamo, one of the spiritual homes of international enduro, will host the world’s premier team-based enduro competition this summer. With Jaume Betriu stepping away from the World Trophy team but into the role of team manager after officially retiring from racing, Spain fields a strong, well-balanced squad ready to fight for top honours in both the World Trophy and the Junior Trophy categories.

Senior Trophy Team

The standout name for the senior team is once again Josep García, widely recognised as the fastest enduro rider on the planet in recent years. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, and current EnduroGP World Championship leader, will head to Bergamo in impressive form.

ISDE team rivals will well know Josep has topped the scratch standings at the past four ISDE editions (Italy 2021, France 2022, Argentina 2023, Spain 2024), and surely will be pushing for the team first but that fifth overall in Bergamo.

The only change to Spain’s Trophy team from last year is the inclusion of Alejandro Navarro, who replaces Betriu. He joins his twin brother Sergio Navarro (Husqvarna), with whom he’ll form a formidable duo, both now seasoned contenders on the international scene. Completing the team is Julio Pando (Beta Trueba), who returns to the squad after a standout season in the Spanish Enduro Championship.

Spain has come agonisingly close to World Trophy victory, finishing runners-up four times in the last five editions.

A New Generation Targets the Junior Trophy

In the Junior category, Spain is putting its trust in a new wave of young talent with international credentials. The team includes Albert Fontova (WP Èric Augé), Àlex Puey, and Yago Domínguez (both with Rieju). With speed, consistency, and clear ambition, this trio will aim to bring back the Junior World Vase to Spain.

No Women’s Trophy Team for Spain in 2025

One notable absence from this year’s ISDE is a Spanish women’s team. Following the retirement of Mireia Badia, the reigning Women’s Enduro World Champion, the RFME has decided not to field a team in the Women’s Trophy category.

The federation is expected to wait for the emergence of a new generation of riders to take up the mantle in future editions.
