Italian Enduro: Verona and Freeman share Rnd2 wins on the Sunshine Island in Italy

Results and video highlights from round two of the 2023 Italian Enduro Championship where Andrea Verona and Brad Freeman shared day wins ahead of Steve Holcombe as EnduroGP season fast approaches.

2023 Italian Enduro Round 2 in a nutshell:

Hot favourites flying on new bikes, recovered from injury and winding up to the start of the season in just two weeks, if the 2023 EnduroGP World Championship season is anything like the Italian series is panning out so far, then we are in for a corker!
The focus for many racing the world championship remained in Italy this last weekend at round two of the Campionati Italiani Enduro Assoluti D’Italia (to give it the proper name) in Grado, in the Province of Gorizia on the Adriatic Coast.
Four figure of eight laps of around 30km greeted riders with fast and less technically demanding tests which totalled 30 in all this weekend.
Of the 14 special tests on day one, World Champion Verona sailed to seven test inws on the E350F GASGAS, taking the day win by 14 seconds at the final timing beam.
Beta’s Brad Freeman took four test wins on route to second overall ahead of his teammate Steve Holcome who pipped Daniel Milner by just over a second for the final podium spot on day one.
Nathan Watson completed the top five with Samuele Bernardini and Hamish Macdonald the only other riders to seal test wins.
Day two was a different story on the time sheets with Watson the only rider to take a test win away from the battling Freeman and Verona all day. Brad took the day win by just under two seconds from Verona who counted back on a mistake on lap two which cost him.
Third overall for both days, Steve Holcombe ended up around one minute behind the lead two on combined times for the weekend but ahead of a titanic fight to be inside the top 10 by a long list of A-class riders. Check the names on results below…
