Quick look: 2025 Honda CRF300L Rally and 300L Suspension updates

Honda have announced 2025 model updates across the motorcycle range including suspension upgrades for the popular CRF300L Rally and CRF300L dual-sport bikes.

Versatile, reliable, approachable and fun, the CRF300L range from Honda is righty popular with a wide range of riders looking for an all-purpose motorcycle.

One of the most popular dual-sport motorcycles on the market it features a 286cc single-cylinder engine with a focus on balancing performance with ease of use and fuel efficiency, this machine is incredibly budget-friendly.

Chiefly it is comfortable and easy to ride on the road and the trails with more focused off-road model colours and looks it look sthe part. Nowhere more so than the Rally model which has mimics the Dakar rally race bikes plus gives the standard 300L model increased riding range thanks to a bigger tank.

Honda has updated the CRF300L suspension for 2025 with a short list of upgrades across the three models, don’t forget the 300L is available in two configurations alongside the Rally edition—standard and the LS (5cm/2-inch lower seat) version—both of which come with ABS and pillion pegs are available.

New graphics, matching those of the 2025 CRF Performance family.
LED headlight and turn signals, for better visibility.
Stiffer shock damping for improved bottoming resistance.
Smoother initial rear-suspension movement thanks to upper shock mount bearing (replaces a bush).
Updated suspension damping in the fork.
New radiator fan and grill, for improved engine-heat management.

Better damping welcome off-road

The suspension change is the big news here and it will be welcomed by riders looking for a bit mroe support from the CRF300 off the road. Honda use their 43mm inverted Showa fork with a Pro-Link shock rear system.

The standard CRF300L and teh Rally model feature 253mm/10.2inches of front and rear suspension travel while the CRF300LS has 236mm/9.3 and 228mm/9.0 inches of front and rear travel, respectively.

New for 2025, the CRF300L receives stiffer shock damping for improved bottoming resistance, Honda say. In addition, the rubber bushing in the upper shock mount has been replaced by a bearing, resulting in smoother initial rear-suspension movement. Suspension damping in the fork is also updated though they included no more detail than that in the press material.
