Quick look: new 2023 Leatt body protectors

Leatt’s new 1.5 and 2.5 models are hard shell, EN approved body protection systems designed for comfort while riding off-road and updated and upgraded with new features and innovations plus cool colour options for 2023.

1.5 and 1.5 ‘Torque’ chest and back protectors

The 1.5 model comes in two options for the 2023 season. The standard 1.5 model is presented as a lightweight chest protector with an outer shell made of hard plastic with interior padding. It complies with the EN14021 approval regulations for the chest and its 3D design, with adjustable straps at the waist, “offers a tight, very comfortable and ventilated fit”, Leatt say.

It incorporates a new patented BraceOn adjustment system, with removable plates at the top front and rear, to offer more space to combine it with neck braces and can be worn either over and under the jersey. It is available in black and white colours.

The 1.5 also has a second version in different colours (Camo, Citrus, Tiger and Titanium), called 1.5 Torque, a more solid option without the ventilation triangles of the previous model or removable plates – although it can also be combined with the neck brace thanks to the recesses in this part in front and back.

2.5 model

The 2.5 body protector also features a hard plastic outer protection system to combat roost and crashes. It has a 3DF AirFit impact foam on the inside, which improves its performance under impact with a EN1621-2 Level 1 approval for the back and EN14021 for the chest.

Like its 1.5 sibling, it can be worn over and under riding jerseys and can be worn with the neck brace with the front and rear top plates removed. Available in black and white.
