Quick look: New wrap-around Touquet handguards from Polisport

Polisport update their ‘Touquet’ wrap-around handguards to be tougher and more durable for off-road, trail and enduro.

Handguards, roost deflectors, hand protectors…whatever you want to call these things, the list of different options out there is a long one. For many enduro riders, particularly those of us who ride hard enduro or between the trees a lot, strong and sturdy handguards are the preferred choice because they protect your hands better and save levers and throttle tubes when you crash.

Polisport has just updated their Touquet model protectors with a new mounting system aiming to make them stronger and last longer, a perfect fit for trail and enduro they say.

“The new aluminium mounting not only reduces the risk of breakage, but also ensures they can withstand the harshest off-road conditions.” Polisport explain.

Basically the new guards eliminate the weak points present in the previous system (and in some other manufacturers’ wrap-around guards), with a more robust mounting system which promises to be stronger and last longer.

As with previous Touquet guards, the aluminium mounting system is designed to be universal and fit different handlebar diameters and shape (details below).

The fitment requires just one, 5mm allen key and the plastic roost deflectors come in a range of colours, are vented but still offer wind as well as roost protection.
