Romaniacs 2025: Tarres and Aubert join Walker and Sunderland in new Adventure category

Pol Tarres on a Yamaha Tenere 700 and Johnny Aubert on a KTM 890 Adventure will join Triumph twins Jonny Walker and Sam Sunderland racing in new Adventure Ultimate category at the 2025 Red Bull Romanaics on July 22-26.

Away from the headline acts in the Gold class (or maybe alongside the headliners these days?) the new Adventure bike categories at the Red Bull Romaniacs 2025 is attracting some big-name stars.

Pol Tarres is the latest “big gun” to put his name down in the all-new ADV categories. The Spaniard, who has taken his Yamaha Tenere 700 to the Bronze and Silver classes in recent years, will ride the Adventure Ultimate class competing alongside Jonny Walker on the Triumph Tiger 900 Adventure.

KTM will field one official rider with multiple Enduro World Champion Johnny Aubert another new addition this week to the Ultimate category.

Also on a Triumph, Dakar winner Sam Sunderland will race the Adventure Lite category – the two classes tailored to different ability levels but specifically for adventure bikes where Sam will opt for an easier ride.

Tarres was expected to race the Silver category again this year but the race organisers tell us he’s switched to the new class. Kevin Gallas meanwhile will race the main Bronze category, the class he won last year on a Yamaha Tenere 700.
