Team GB ISDE Manager Jamie Lewis steps down

ISDE Team GB will be looking for a new Team Manager for the 2025 Six Days in Italy as Jamie Lewis step down from the role.

The ISDE Team GB has said thanks for the memories and commitment to Jamie Lewis for his two years in the role of team manager.

The former rider stepped into the role “with dedication and a strong passion for the sport”, bringing a strong rider’s perspective to the manager’s role after taking over and having left “a lasting impact, not only on the team but also on the future of the sport”.

“I want to say a big thank you to the ACU and the British ISDE Team for giving me the opportunity to be Team Manager over the past two years.” Says Lewis. “It’s been a privilege to be involved in the sport again, creating some unforgettable memories and working alongside a fantastic group of people. However, with my business set to have a very busy year, I don’t feel I can commit the time and energy the role deserves any more. I wish the team every success in 2025 and beyond.”

Throughout his time as manager, Jamie built strong relationships and pushed the team forward in at times difficult circumstances faced by any ISDE manager. GB ISDE managers have it particularly hard with financial constraints when compared to rival teams at the top of the World Trophy list of contenders.

Not only that but they also have the annual head scratch to bring together what should be an easy pick of EnduroGP World Championship winners who for various reasons don’t always want to commit to the ISDE.

Being the GB team manager is like being a game show contestant who gets the last question wrong – you could have won a speed boat but instead, here’s a toaster.

After stepping into the Team Manager role in early 2023, Jamie steered the team to success in Argentina which saw the Men’s Trophy Team finish third in a tough edition of the ISDE, certainly for European riders.

In Spain last year, Jamie proved himself a model leader for not only the trophy riders, but also many of the club team competitors, despite massive set-back of effectively losing a key rider on the start of day one.

All the best Jamie and that leaves just one question...
